Library slates dates for fall gardening tips

Fall gardening workshops with horticulturist Donna Guske Hanson will be at nine branch library locations starting Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Tekoa Library and 1 p.m. at the Garfield Library.

These classes will feature dozens of tips and tricks for beginning and experienced gardeners. In September, the weather changes quickly so garden clean-up and planting have to be done simultaneously. Other library workshop dates and sites are as follows:

Funding for the programs is provided through Friends of Whitman County Library.

Wednesday, Sept. 17, Endicott, 10 to 11:30 a.m., and St. John Library, noon to 1:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 20, Oakesdale, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Rosalia, 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 23, Colfax, noon to 1:30 p.m., and LaCrosse, 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 27, Albion, 10 to 11:30 a.m., and Colton, 1 to 2:30 p.m.
