SPOKANE – A native of Whitman County is now a deputy in the Spokane County Sheriff's Office. Whitnie Whitman, 29, was sworn into office Tuesday, Aug. 16, by Undersheriff John Nowels along with Ty Laboy and Paul Grady Jr. Whitman and Laboy are new to law enforcement.
