TEKOA — The Tekoa-Rosalia football team opened their football season with a rough 32-0 loss at the hands of the DeSales Irish Friday, Sept. 1. DeSales scored all 32 points of the game in the first quarter, scoring three touchdown runs, one touchdown pass, and scored on a safety from the defense to help the Irish reach 32 points. OAKESDALE — The reigning back-to-back state volleyball champions for the 1B division returned to the court Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Freeman Jamboree in Rockford. The Oakesdale Volleyball team took on all four teams that were at the Jamboree. The varsity teams that attended the event were: Oakesdale, Freeman, West Valley and East Valley. ST. JOHN - The football season started one day early for the St. John-Endicott (SJEL) Eagles this year. They opened their season Thursday, Aug. 31 against the Garfield-Palouse (GAR-PAL) Vikings. OAKESDALE - After an impressive season in 2021-22, the Oakesdale Nighthawks volleyball team won the state title, finishing the regular season 24-0, and 9-0 in district play. The team lost eight sets all season during 2021-22, winning 72 sets along the way. PULLMAN — Washington State University is getting a new indoor practice facility. A groundbreaking ceremony for the facility that will replace “the bubble” is set for Saturday, Sept. 9.
