Mashayla Morris, daughter of Luke and Jennifer Morris, received blue ribbons on both of her pigs during showing at the Palouse Empire Fair. Her brother Quincy received a ribbon in his showing of his calf, Grease, in the Little Cowpoke division. Dusty Jim and Ann Emerson’s family, siblings and children helped them move from their farm home to their new apartment at Hill Ray in Colfax Saturday. Their son Bill will be living in the Emerson’s house. Sara Van Camp’s son, Tom, has moved here from Spokane to reside with his mother. He is a sophomore at LaCrosse High School and is playing on the Tigercat football team. Kim and Cindy Pitts spent Labor Day weekend at their cabin on Priest Lake. Dusty Saturday, Linda Hennigar and Diane Monson attended a “Tapestry” reunion potluck at the home of Barney and Rosemary Waldrop in Pullman. Former director Dale Forrey and his wife Lynn, Olympia, were able to attend. Five of the original nine members of the musical group were there. About 12 former members attended. Linda Hennigar spent last Tuesday through Friday in the Tri-Cities. She watched grandson Wesley Banks show his lamb at the Benton-Franklin County Fair. Dusty Shirley Eggers said there is a very small crop of peaches this year at Warm Springs Ranch orchard along the Snake River at Penawawa. The cool, wet spring meant the bees did not come out to pollinate the blossoms. Dick and Suzy McNeilly have had her daughter Christina and two sons, Mason and Aidan, visiting for the past two and a half weeks from Camp LeJeune, N.C. Dusty Art and Colene Sager spent the week of July 17 - 23 at the International Flying Farmers Convention in Calgary. While in the area, they went to the historic, museum style Bar U Ranch where there was a campfire lunch, wagon rides, cookies from a wood burning range, etc. They toured the Banff-Lake Louise area where they rode a gondola to the top of a mountain at Banff. Saturday afternoon visitors at the home of Karen Broeckel were Tom and Joanne Nolan Stewart and Kyle and Kirstin of Pacific Grove, Calif. Dusty Recently, Harmon and Jan Smith hosted a reunion for about 35 descendants of Harmon’s great-grandfather, Charlie Dodge. The group traveled to the homestead at Dodge, the family cemetery in Walla Walla and to Steptoe Butte. One evening, Harmon’s brother Walt shared his research about the family ancestry. The relatives, most of whom had never met, discovered they were happy to get to know each other and hope to gather again when even more of the family can attend. Dusty David and Phyllis Stueckle and Ann Emerson of LaCrosse drove to Puyallup last Friday to attend the wedding of the women’s niece, Kari Aune, daughter of Norm and Barb Aune, to Eric Kelly. The traditional wedding took place in the Tacoma First Lutheran Church on Saturday. Sunday morning, they attended a brunch at the home of Norm and Barb Aune. Dusty Linda Hennigar attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Jack and Marilyn Roberts Hennigar, Harvard, Idaho, Saturday. Jack, who was from Riparia, and Marilyn, who was from Hay, were married in LaCrosse on June 23, 1962. Dusty David and Sue Harvey of Cascade, Idaho, were Thursday night guests of their cousin, Colene and Art Sager. Saturday Art’s brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Linda Sager of Meridian, Idaho, arrived for the LaCrosse Farmers Fest and the 50th high school class reunion. Dusty Geraldine Steiger, daughter of Duane and Tarri Steiger, graduated from the University of Washington last weekend. Duane, Tarri, their son Stetson, Geraldine’s fiancé Spencer Scholz and KoDee Pruett attended. Geraldine’s Political Science department graduation was Friday and the overall University graduation was Saturday. They also attended the Mariner’s no-hitter against the L.A. Dusty Last Wednesday, Dusty B.B. Club held their annual guest luncheon in the Jones Schoolhouse at the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds. Approximately 40 members and guests attended the event. Fran Jones presented the program on the history of the Jones family. The next meeting of the club will take place in October. News has been received of the death of Victor Stueckle, Walla Walla, Sunday, May 6. Mr. Stueckle was born in the Dusty area in 1924. Services will be at the College Place Presbyterian Church at 11 Tuesday, May 15. Saturday, Di Brink took Mike Stine and Norma Gibson to Cheney where they participated in the Special Olympics Track Meet. They both did very well in the three events each entered.
