Homestead Ministries met with the St. Patrick's Youth Group last Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the parish hall of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colfax.     Dusty Last week Wednesday on Veteran’s Day, the Dusty B.B. Club met at the home of Diane Monson, co-hostess was Fran Maki, to fill care packages to be sent to our troops stationed overseas. Eight members filled more than 10 boxes with snacks, personal items, games, puzzles, and condiments, donated by McDonald’s on Bishop Ave. in Pullman and Taco Time and Arby’s in Colfax, to enhance the taste of the troops’ M.R.E.’s.   • Homestead volunteers aid 'Feed Spokane'

    Dusty Homestead Ministries, led by Tom Riedner of Dusty and Greg Nolan of Colfax, met in Spokane last week with the “Feed Spokane” group and volunteers from Fairchild Air Force Base to make 30 meal packets for Spokane soup kitchens from 13,500 lbs. of supplies.   • Church women plan annual turkey dinner

    Dusty Methodist Women’s group of LaCrosse will serve their annual turkey dinner Nov. 4 at the church in LaCrosse. They will begin serving at 5:30 and continue until either people stop coming or they run out of food. The menu consists of roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls and home-made pumpkin pie.     Dusty Hunters have been camping out at a couple of locations along Green Spot Road. Steve and Becky Camp had six hunters from western Washington using their place as a base. They bagged one deer during their stay. Part of the group went home Monday. The rest left later. Oscar Broeckel’s place was base for his nephew John Allyn Murray from Bellingham who arrived last week Wednesday. He’s still trying to bag his deer at the time of this writing.     Dusty Harm and Jan Smith were in Yakima a few days last week to attend Grandparents Day at Riverside Christian School where grandson Micah is a second grader.     Dusty Tom and Doreen Riedner left last Wednesday for Meridian, Idaho, with Homestead Ministries for “Feed the Need” at The Ambrose School. Thursday, Greg and Gwen Nolan brought a trailer with the ingredients for the soup packets and Becky and Steve Camp, Brian and Debi Largent, Gary Largent, Jon Webster, Audrey Largent and Jody Conrad arrived in the Onecho bus.     Dusty Tarri Steiger spent a week on vacation in North Dakota with her sister Traci and brother-in-law Darren from the Seattle area. They went through Yellowstone National Park and visited Mt. Rushmore. The purpose of the trip was to bury their father’s ashes alongside their mother’s at the little family cemetery in Overly, N. D., where their father was raised. Her graveside services will be Sunday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Colfax Cemetery. A reception will follow at Hill Ray Plaza. Irma Stueckle died last Friday.     Dusty Twenty-two Stueckle cousins gathered at the home of Goldie Foss in Colfax Saturday for their annual potluck and reunion. The cousins came from Seattle, Puyallup, LaCrosse, the Tri-cities, Spokane and Colfax. All cousins are Stueckle related to their grandmother who, with her husband, homesteaded on farms in the Dusty area in 1905.
