    Dusty Saturday, July 17, Dick and Suzy McNeilly hosted a McNeilly Family BBQ for 57 guests. Family members ranged in age from 11 months to 98 and came from places as far as Seattle, Lake Tapps and Chewelah. Everyone had a great time with food, stories, family photos and memorabilia.     Dusty Sharon Urtaza, daughter of Virginia Jones Edwards and Neal Edwards, is visiting with Bryan Jones and Urtaza’s aunt, Fran Jones. Sharon is accompanied by her youngest son Cristien and his friend Josh, all from Las Cruces, N.M. Grandchildren Meggie and Damien Perron, Chatillon, Italy, arrived July 5 to spend time with Bryan and Fran Jones. Apricots are ripe this week at Warm Springs Ranch on the Snake River.     Dusty The Jones Schoolhouse is scheduled to be moved from its current location, a few miles east of Dusty, for more than 100 years to its new home on the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds at 9 a.m. July 14. Anyone who plans on being on Highway 26 between Colfax and Dusty that morning should be advised to possibly find another route. Plans are for the schoolhouse to become a meeting place for small groups and a museum of early educational days in Washington.     Dusty LaCrosse High School graduating class of 1960, celebrated their 50 year reunion over the weekend. They rode the LaCrosse fire truck in the Farmers Festival parade Saturday, attended the festival picnic in the park, had a barbecue Saturday evening and breakfast Sunday morning at the Parsonage Bed and Breakfast.     Dusty The thunder, lightening and rain storm last Thursday caused some local damage. Art and Colene Sager had more than a foot of mud wash into their barn and yard. They received 1.4 inches of rain that afternoon. Kim and Cindy Pitts had their computer fried by a bolt of lightening that hit near them. It also knocked out the phones and on-line services for several homes in the area.     Dusty Fran Jones recently returned from her winter home in Arizona. She took “the long route home” having made a trip to Burlington, Vermont, to attend the graduation ceremonies of grandson Abel Jones, son of Bruce and Johanna, who received a degree in business administration from St. Michael’s College.     Dusty Kurt Moore, son of Steve and Carol Moore, joined a group of 10 Onecho Bible Church Junior High boys on an eight day trip to the Grand Canyon last week. They traveled down through Idaho, toured Salt Lake City, a number of national parks and took a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. Chaperones were Todd Kinley and Pat Wuestney. They returned home Saturday night. Many attended the funeral service Monday for Matthew Cochran at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colfax. Cochran lost his life in an avalanche last week.     Dusty Basil Basil, the formerly missing dog, is back home again. While her owners, Mark and Kathy Vogler, were gone, she decided to check out life in the big city. She hitched a ride with a Gonzaga student first to Walla Walla and then to Spokane. She spent the weekend making friends with Gonzaga students, watched a Zags basketball game on TV, lived in an apartment for the first time, and got a bath.     Dusty The Rev. Lloyd Wiebe, pastor of the Country Bible Church from 1967 to 1974, died in a hospital in Victoria, B. C., last Saturday morning of heart failure. Services will be at 2 p.m. at the New Life Community Baptist Church in Duncan, B.C Saturday, Jan. 16. The Rev. Wiebe is survived by his wife, Ruth, a son, Mark (Laurie), daughter Miriam, twin granddaughters and a grandson.
