    OLYMPIA - Washington anglers will be required to possess a recreational fishing license for freshwater smelt, crawfish and carp, according to a news release by the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife. The new law signed by Governor Inslee goes into effect June 6.     COLFAX — On Saturday and Sunday, June 8-9, anglers will not be required to have a fishing license for certain species. Trout and bass in lowland lakes across the state, as well as shad can be caught and kept without a license. However, starting this year, a valid license is still required for anyone 15 or older to harvest any species requiring a catch record card, including salmon, steelhead, sturgeon and halibut, and all shellfish.     COLFAX — The Colfax junior rodeo is set to return to the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9. Events start at 10 a.m. each day.
