    COLTON — On Monday, May 13, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ranger’s failed attempt to safely discard hot coals sparked a small wildfire on the Snake River bank. Whitman County Fire District 14 Volunteer Firefighters from Colton and Uniontown were called to a small blaze between Wawawai Landing and Granite Point. According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), Chelsea Davis, 32, of Pullman, was driving a SUV southbound, north of Pullman, when her vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with a sedan.
