The alarm was turned in at about 6 o'clock, and the firemen responded with all the speed attainable.     The Palouse Conservation District has announced funding available to local landowners and producers for land conservation. Funding is available through the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) specifically for the Palouse River watershed.     Due to navigation lock construction, access to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Little Goose Lock and Dam’s tailrace fishing wall and day-use area will remain temporarily closed until further notice. Colfax Attorney Bruce Ensley, who has served as the Port attorney since 1978, has been hired part time by the Port to continue his attorney duties there.
