    The Colton girls asserted their hold on the Southeast 1B league with wins over Oakesdale and L/W/K. Colton 78, Oakesdale 38 Freshman Dakota Patchen scored 18 points to lead Colton in a Southeast 1B league blowout of Oakesdale. A total of nine players scored for the Wildcats (12-1, 7-0), with Meghan Devorak scoring 18, and Zoe Moser 12. The Bulldogs Friday posted a solid 58-44 win over the Wilbur/Creston Wildcats at Creston and returned home Saturday for a 62-42 win over Kettle Falls with a strong run in the second half.     A $2,500 grant from OfficeMax in partnership with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories will help the Uniontown Library relocation and renovation project to reach near completion. The new library is expected to open in early February. The final contributions allowed the library to include a separate children’s area with a sink for clean-up of crafts and experiments, child-sized table and chairs, and built-in cupboards for storage.     The Colfax Chamber of Commerce will soon be unveiling a “Shop Local” campaign for Colfax, said Valoree Gregory, Colfax's Unified Executive Director.     A Washington State University research plant pathologist last week released the first stripe rust update for susceptible crops in 2016.
