FFA dinner auction set The annual dinner and auction for Pullman FFA alumni and friends will be at Banyan’s on the Ridge Sunday, Feb. 22, with a social hour at 4:30 p.m. and dinner at 5:30. Guests 21 and over are welcome. Tickets are $30 each or $225 for a table of eight. The silent auction will include many items from local artisans. Healthy Tekoa Coalition members Diane and Bill Harp traveled to Washington, D.C., Feb. 2-5, along with others including Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell for a presentation about hometown issues surrounding alcohol and marijuana use among teens. The Farmington Harvest Festival Committee issued its final report to the town council Jan. 19 along with a check for $7,752. The donation closed out the group’s bank account after three years and two September festivals, in 2012 and 2013. The final donation culminated months of wrangling regarding tax filings. Whitman Community Hospital Foundation hosted a successful gala dinner and auction on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Hill-Ray Plaza. Auctioneer Butch Booker had a little assistance from son Cotton, a seventh grader, with more than 20 live auction items. Nearly $23,000 was cleared for the foundation endowment fund. A sold-out crowd gathers inside the cold Palouse Community Center Feb. 7 for the indoor-outdoor Palouse Cabin Fever Brew Fest.
