Lentil fest slates vendor signups National Lentil Festival will begin accepting applications for vendors March 1, 2015. The festival will be August 21-22 in Reaney Park and the Spring Street parking lot in Pullman. It offers approximately 120 vendor openings. The registration deadline is June 12 at 5 p.m. A new addition to the 2015 festival will be the Nonprofit Night vendor option. Registered nonprofit organizations have the option of attending. Dusty Meggie Perron came from Walla Walla last Friday afternoon to spend time with her grandmother, Fran Jones, and Uncle Bryan. Friday evening they drove to Hayden to celebrate Meggie’s 21st and Bryan’s 60th birthdays with Emelie, Warren and Julie. Thirteen advanced care planning workshops have been scheduled the week of Feb. 23-28 at Whitman County branch libraries and Neill Library in Pullman. Planning facilitators to will be on hand to assist. On Sunday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., members of the Uniontown community are putting on the 61st annual Sausage Feed. Net proceeds from the dinner funds maintenance on the town’s community building. Whitman County commissioners on Monday approved a land purchase for the county’s emergency management. Bill Tensfeld, county Emergency Management Director, told commissioners the $4,000 purchase was for about a half acre of property for a radio tower site and includes a 14-foot access. The land was purchased from Lola Finch. The tower is located on top of the breaks of the Snake River above Lower Granite Dam.
