The Endicott library is hoping to teach teenagers how to be financially savvy. The library will host a teen finance class Tuesday, March 15, for teenagers and tweens, said Endicott Librarian Tia Langston, who organized the event. Whitman County Public Hospital District No. 2 is now known as Garfield-Farmington Health District in a name change to clarify what area of the county it serves. Endicott The Endicott community club met at Trinity Lutheran Parish Hall on March 1. Principal Bruce Porubek of Endicott Elementary and Jr. High School was present with preschool teacher Tara Huntley to request a helping hand with the cost of new lunch tables for the preschool children. Precipitation reading at the NRCS station Monday morning totaled .62 of an inch. The reading totaled heavy rainfall for the prior two nights to start a solid precipitation track for the month. Rainfall totals have lagged for the last two months. Overall precipitation during February was 1.28 inches which is .66 below normal. A formal charge of harassment with the threat to kill was filed March 3 in superior court against Bobby E. Farmer, 53, Pullman resident who was arrested at his residence after a Pullman Police investigation of a posting he allegedly had placed on the Rants and Raves segment of Craigslist for the Pullman area. An April 11 trial date has been scheduled for Brian J. Berntgen, 25, Oakesdale. He was charged Feb. 23 with delivery of a controlled substance to a minor. The drug was identified as alprazolam in the formal charge. A deputy Feb. 21 responded to a report of a disorderly person at a residence in Oakesdale. According to the arrest report, when he arrived at the scene the deputy was presented with a cigarette case which contained five white pills which were identified to be Xanax. Three local museums will hold special events on Saturday, March 12, for “National Museum Day.” The Tekoa Museum will hold a special opening from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. The museum, which is open and available by appointment and during library hours, is housed in the back portion of the Tekoa library.
