Cletis Ball A memorial service for Cletis (Dick) Ball, 92, was Friday, March 12, at Grace Lutheran Church in Potlatch. Rev. Larry Veith officiated. Cremation preceded the services. His ashes will be buried at the Mendenhall Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Ball died last Tuesday morning, March 9, 2010, at Good Samaritan Village in Moscow where he had resided for one week. A $250,000 bond for pre-trial release was set for Daniel A. Noble, the Moscow resident who is charged with hitting two people with a car on the WSU campus Dec. 7. The bond was set after the court received an evaluation of Noble from Eastern State Hospital. The court ruled the mental examination report on the suspect said he could be considered dangerous unless kept in confinement. The 1928 Wittman Barn was recently placed on the state’s Heritage Barn Register. In the 1920s, the Reisenauer family used the building to house draft horses for their fields, cattle, and later, jersey dairy cows. Granddaughter Angela Anegon hopes to obtain state funds to help restore the aging structure. For the first time ever, state auditors are inspecting Whitman County’s complete set of books and finding “huge errors” in how assets are accounted for, according to Bev Divine, county finance director. “It’s like we falsified the value of our assets because we don’t have any backup,” said Divine. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Cody A. Richardson, 18, Spokane Valley, for alleged involvement in the theft of guns from an unoccupied residence outside of Winona last November.
