    Local gardeners are asked to consider planting an extra row for food banks and senior meal sites. The Council on Aging and Human Services invites gardeners to drop off produce at their office at 210 S.     The Rosalia City Council and Rosalia Historical Commission are now seeking a grant to restore the 1902 Pythian Building at the northwest corner of Whitman and Seventh Streets in Rosalia. Her family came to Colfax from Norway March 30. They spent the weekend seeing the local sights and then they drove to Seattle and down the Pacific Coast to San Francisco.     A grant to replace Zarbach Bridge at Thornton would cost Whitman County almost twice the cost of replacing it out of the county’s road budget, Public Works Director Mark Storey reported Monday. Storey got permission from commissioners to begin a project to replace the 24-foot bridge with county crews at a cost of $114,000. The county had been awarded a federal grant, but the additional permits and paperwork would have cost the county as much as $280,000, he said. Vanek’s time was reported by Mayor Pro-Tem Al Vorderbrueggen who presided at Monday night’s city council session in the absence of the mayor.
