    Whitworth freshman Michal Schuster maintained her hold on the top spot through the final round of the 2014 Northwest Conference Championship tournament, earning medalist honors and leading the Whitworth women’s golf team to a third place finish at OGA golf course on Sunday in Woodburn, Ore. Schuster, who graduated from St. John/Endicott last year, shot 79 on the final 18 holes of the 5,821 yard course for a total score of 152, six over par.     A Colton-Pomeroy doubleheader set for Colton April 26 was moved to Pomeroy because of weather conditions. On the Pirates’ field, with Colton (5-1 league) as the home team, the Wildcats went down in the first game 11-9 before taking the second 14-1. With senior Jake Straughan on the mound, Colton held Pomeroy in check until the seventh inning when Oscar Morfin delivered a three-run home run.   • Moser earns “Smart Choices” scholarship

    Jenna Moser of Colton High School is one of two state recipients of the second annual Smart Choices Scholarship presented by the WIAA, Dairy Farmers of Washington and Les Schwab Tires. The winners each receive a $5,000 scholarship to the school of their choice. Moser will enroll at the University of Washington where she plans to pursue a degree in architecture.     A new official website is coming together in Farmington to take the place of an existing unofficial one.
