  • Garfield May Day debuts SE band

    A new marching band will highlight the parade Saturday for Garfield’s May Day celebration. Made up of a combination of Garfield/Palouse, Oakesdale, LaCrosse and Washtucna students, the Southeast Washington Marching Band will debut in the parade which will start at 11 a.m. Conducted by Matt Zook, Gar/Pal music director, the SE band will perform Saturday evening in the Spokane Lilac Parade.     This 1969 Dodge Charger replica of the Dukes of Hazard’s General Lee was one of 155 vehicles at the Chipman & Taylor Classic Car Show Saturday. Cars, tractors and motorcycles in more colors than a combined bag of M&Ms and Skittles graced the Pullman car lot, on display for enthusiasts and casual viewers alike.
