Hanson workshop set at Dahmen barn Visiting artist Wes Hanson will lead a two-day workshop June 7 and 8 at the Dahmen Barn from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hanson teaches drawing and painting to adults for Spokane Art Supply, North Idaho College and the Dahmen Barn, . Students will learn to draw both loose and focused landscapes and paint them with watercolors. The cost of the workshop is $132 with students bringing their own materials. Wild Goose Qigong will come to The Center at Whitman County Library Sundays, June 1, 15, 22, 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. Lacrosse Bob and Leanne Bafus attended the graduation of their daughter, Samantha, from the University of Idaho Saturday. She has a business degree with an emphasis in human resources. Dusty Art and Colene Sager flew to Astoria, Ore., for the weekend to attend an International Flying Farmer Convention. This yearly event was hosted by the Oregon Flying Farmer chapter. They were able to take in the sights of this area which included the Maritime Museum, an historic house tour, a trolley ride and the reconstructed cabins of the Lewis and Clark Expedition winter abode. Endicott Connor Pelissier, son of Jim and Amanda Pelissier, Endicott, a junior member of the Endicott Gun Club, shot very well at the Inland Empire Handicap Shoot. On Saturday, May 17, he was Sub Junior Runner Up in Doubles with a 90 out of 100 (90/100) and Sub Junior Handicap Winner at 96/100. Whitman County commissioners still are mulling over which roads could be designated as 35 mph for ATVs. County Public Works Director Mark Storey told commissioners on Monday morning that he must do a speed study on roads in order to designate a road be posted at 35 mph or less. He said the study probably wouldn’t be complete until this fall. Whitman County deputies on May 15 recovered stolen property, including several vehicles, in a warrant search of a residence on Sunset Road at Thornton. Arrested was Keith B. Kautzman, 47, who reportedly had recently moved to the residence. Sheriff Brett Myers’ report said deputies became aware of the Thornton site after receiving reports from the public about heavy traffic on the road.
