Dippel grandson gets commission Norma Dippel, former long-time Tekoa resident now of Spokane, last week attended the 2011 ceremony May 24 in Colorado Springs to see her grandson, David L. Dye of Sandpoint, Idaho graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Dye, son of Dennis and Karla Dippel Dye of Sagle, Idaho, is a member of the 2007 class of Sandpoint High School. Erickson gets scholarship Abby Erickson of Colfax has been awarded $3,000 through the Trustees fund for the 2011-12 academic year at Eastern Washington University. The award recognizes a student who maintains a grade average over 3.8 and is a continuing EWU student. A 2009 graduated of Colfax High School where she participated in volleyball, basketball, softball and the National Honors Society. She is the daughter of Robin and Leif Erickson of Colfax.
