    Twenty Colfax seniors were listed for awards and scholarships in the program insert which was distributed at Saturday’s commencement ceremony. The awards and honors were presented during scholarship night in the CHS auditorium last Tuesday. Class members received $35,720 in one-time awards and scholarships. In addition, class members received scholarships and study grants totaling $159,020 with most valued out over a four-year period. Four-year award valuations are marked with an asterick below.     Charges filed on Colfax speedster Formal charges were filed June 1 against William F. King, 26, the suspect who was arrested after officers said they conducted a high speed chase in the north end of Colfax May 26. He has been charged with attempting to elude a police officer, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.     Whitman County commissioners renewed their contract with the Southeast Washington Economic Development Alliance, SEWEDA, to lead the county’s economic development efforts. Whitman County will receive $52,000 over the next two years to recruit and develop local businesses. The contract extension funnels that funding to SEWEDA.     Vintage hot rods of all shapes and sizes lined Main Street in downtown Palouse Saturday for the seventh annual Palouse Hot Rod Show.     Lacrosse LaCrosse swim pool will open June 15. Hours will be Monday to Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Admission will be $1.50 per day and $1 per night.
