    This Boeing 40C is the only 40C still flying and is also Boeing's oldest flying aircraft. The interior has been renovated to display all-wood paneling. The plane crashed in 1928 and was uncovered and removed 70 years later for restoration and took flight in 2008.   • Avista to cut Colfax power for six hours

    A scheduled power outage will occur in Colfax next Monday June 20, at 10 p.m. and continue until the next morning Tuesday, June 21, at 4 a.m. Avista has scheduled the overnight outage in order for its crews to perform maintenance on equipment in the substation serving the Colfax area.   • Endicott fuel station officially shuts down

    Endicott officially lost its only gas station Tuesday, June 14. CHS Primeland of Lewiston, which operated the pumps, announced the planned closure of the fuel site Jan. 13 this year. “We regret to inform you the CHS Primeland has made the decision to discontinue dispensing fuel at this location,” Jeff Hagemann, energy manager at CHS, wrote to customers in Endicott. “This decision was not made lightly.” In his letter, Hagemann cited things such as the age of the underground tanks, cost to replace the tanks and needed Federal Consumer Credit Card...

  • LaCrosse Farmer's Festival offers full slate

    The annual LaCrosse Farmer's Festival is scheduled for this weekend with a full slate of activities. New to the festival this year is the “Looking Toward the Future” float contest sponsored by Nealey Farms. The winning float will receive a $100 prize, and the only rule for the contest is that the float must be on wheels. Judging for the contest begins at 9:40 a.m. on June 18, prior to the parade.     Whitman County Superior Court Judge David Frazier last Friday decided to wait to make a decision on the petition for a vote to recall Garfield Mayor Ray McCown.
