Carol Jean Haynes Long, farm wife and lifelong native to the Colfax area, passed away Friday, June 11, at the Whitman Health & Rehabilitation Center in Colfax. She was 97. A graveside service for Carol will be held Friday, June 18, at 3 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pullman. Carol was born May 26, 1924, in Moscow, Idaho, to Ted and Leola Frazier Haynes. She grew up spending time between Pullman and Moscow at a farm and she was 13 when her mother passed away, so she had to grow up pretty fast.... Full story
Marie C. Heisler, longtime Colfax resident, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, at the Whitman Hospital in Colfax. She was 66. Born July 17, 1961, in Deer Park, Wash., to George and Delores (Marple) Hager, Darla (Hager) Irwin passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021, after suffering a long battle with Kidney disease. A Riverside High School Graduate from the Class of 1979, Darla went on to EWU, graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, Television and Communications. COLFAX - The Whitman County Library systems offers a Grab-and-Go event for adults where they can Paint-a-Pot. Libraries in Colfax, Colton, Farmington, Garfield, Oakesdale, Tekoa, and Uniontown are offering the program in June.
