    TEKOA – Local areas lost power on Sunday, July 7, affecting over 800 Avista customers. According to Avista employee David Vowels, 882 Avista customers in the Tekoa and Oakesdale areas experienced a disruption of electric service at 7:30 p.m. “The cause of the outage was equipment failure,” said Vowels.     COLFAX — The National Weather Service has issued an extended severe heat warning advisory to Whitman County.
