    Gazette intern reporter Recently, Avista customers in the Whitman County area may have experienced being called by someone who claimed to be with Avista Utilities, demanding payment or their account would be discontinued. However, Avista, along with other companies in the region, has not been calling its customers to demand payment.     ‘Jittery’ driver makes field stop Blaine Spaulding, Oak Harbor, was arrested on Hwy. 26 past mile marker 122 after law enforcement received multiple reports from motorists of a semi truck driving in the wrong lane Friday. After a seven mile pursuit, Spaulding drove along the shoulder of the road for a half mile before parking in a field. Terry Boxleitner pushes it in the men’s Adult Sprint Triathlon, which he won in a time of 1:01.43.     Colfax has received a $10,000 grant from the state Department of Archeology and Historic Preservation to conduct a historical inventory of sites in downtown Colfax from Island to Stevens Street. The project will be done under the auspices of the Colfax Historic Preservation Commission. Councilman Jim Kackman July 5 said one of his concerns was to make sure that the project gets done.
