8 years ago July 22, 1887 On Tuesday, Constable W.S. Reider had an examination before Justice Inman for the killing of Pete Olson at Palouse City on the night of July 4. E.H. Orcutt was the only positive witness of the shooting. His testimony showed that Olson seized Reider, who was in charge of a prisoner, and threw him down, and that the latter fired two shots berfore rising from the sidewalk. Heidi Jamison graduated this spring from Garfield-Palouse High School, but in her community, her culinary claim to fame are her delicious pies. Apparently, the battle for clean energy can be a very dirty business. For years, the Sierra Club has been waging an all-out war to end the use of coal.
