Kenneth Stoddard Crowston, 46, Medical Lake, has been summoned to court Aug. 6 after charges were filed July 14 in superior court following investigation of an alleged burglary of tools at Thornton. The deputy’s report filed with the case outlines a search for the missing tools at pawn shops and storage units in the Spokane area. Pullman police, July 15, reported theft of more than $400 from an unlocked safe in the back room of Keasal’s Chevron in downtown Pullman. Two women entered the station at about 10:24 p.m. Wednesday and one distracted the attendant while the other one went into the back room and took the cash from the open safe. Whitman County commissioners Monday unanimously approved a change to zoning law intended to speed the application process for wind turbine farms. The change to the county’s commercial wind zoning ordinance allows for a hearing examiner to rule on wind farm applications and projects valued more than $5 million. Mary Carpenter Rosary for Mary Angela Carpenter, 85, native of Colton who resided in the Princeton, Idaho, area for 42 years, was recited Saturday, July 17, at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Moscow and the funeral service followed at 1:30.
