    After grinding a layer of worn pavement last week, Poe Asphalt crews paved the two east side lanes of Main Street Monday night and paved the two west side lanes on Tuesday night. Trucks, rollers and two paving machines were at work here in front of Rosauer's Monday. Traffic was again limited to one-way with an escort and flaggers.     Fire crews from Palouse and Colfax responded to a grain fire along the Palouse Highway late last Friday afternoon. The fire started off a combine in a field which was being harvested by Frank Lange. Strong winds blew the blaze across the top of the ridge and at one point threatened the residence of Ernie Motteram.     photo credit Chris Mathia One grain truck saw its last harvest when it fell victim to a field fire July 21 on Olson Road west of Palouse. In addition to the truck, the fire burned 90 acres, 15 of which were still standing grain. According to Palouse Fire Chief Mike Bagott, the fire started some distance away from the truck.
