  • Palouse issues dog tag appeal

    The City of Palouse has asked all citizens who own dogs that if they haven’t licensed their dog, to go to city hall and get a $10 license. Altered dogs are $5. There are 71 licensed dogs in Palouse. It is a violation to have a dog within city limits without licensing it through the City of Palouse. Each household is limited to three dogs. The city asked that if a citizen has a dog complaint, to call the Palouse Police Department....

  • Two earn scholarships

    Ryan Pitzer, son of Tami and Joe Pitzer, and Ellen Simonsen, daughter of Mary and Jan Simonsen, all of Pullman, have each received a scholarship through the WSU College of Engineering and Architecture. Pitzer received a $1,000 Harold P. Curtis scholarship, and Simonsen received a $3,000 Ellie C. Hendrickson scholarship. Simonsen plans to graduate from WSU with a degree in civil engineering. She is the president of Engineers Without Borders and the public service chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers.... Full story

    A superior jury Aug. 19 convicted Reylinda Alvarado, 31, Toppenish, of third degree theft for her part in taking money from the back room of the Chevron Station in Pullman. Sentencing for Alvardo has been scheduled for Aug. 30. Charges were filed against her last May after a Pullman police investigation in the case.
