Robert Earl Gatherer, 70, of Tekoa, passed away August 26, 2023, at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon, after a strong fight with cancer. Bob was born May 8, 1953, in Clarkston, Washington, to parents Samuel Gatherer Jr. and Lillian Gatherer. He graduated in 1971 from Clarkston Highschool. Fred was born on February 8, 1943, to Donald and Edna Appel in Colfax, Washington. PULLMAN — The women’s volleyball and soccer teams for Washington State University (WSU) both rose in rankings after a perfect week from both teams. TEKOA — The Tekoa-Rosalia football team opened their football season with a rough 32-0 loss at the hands of the DeSales Irish Friday, Sept. 1. DeSales scored all 32 points of the game in the first quarter, scoring three touchdown runs, one touchdown pass, and scored on a safety from the defense to help the Irish reach 32 points. OAKESDALE — The reigning back-to-back state volleyball champions for the 1B division returned to the court Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Freeman Jamboree in Rockford. ST. JOHN - The football season started one day early for the St. John-Endicott (SJEL) Eagles this year. They opened their season Thursday, Aug. 31 against the Garfield-Palouse (GAR-PAL) Vikings.
