This photo of “The Carley,” a grinding machine which was produced by the Colfax Iron Works around the turn of the century, was mailed to Colfax City Hall last Tuesday by Danna Dal Porto of Quincy. She reported she took the photo at the Whitehorse Museum in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. The Dal Portos traveled through gold country in Alaska and Yukon in the spring of 2009.
