    COLFAX—Mark Scott of Roy has been summoned to appear in Whitman County Superior Court Oct. 16 on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Scott was stopped by Whitman County Deputy Tyler Langerveld July 25 for suspected connection to a wire theft case. During a search of the vehicle, Dpt.     MALDEN-A plethora of "VIN Inspection" entries have been showing up on the Whitman County Sheriff's log as part of the first steps to removed the vehicles destroyed by the Babb/Malden Fire Sept. 7.     UNIONTOWN—A mini excavator and trailer were stolen from the Uniontown city shop Thursday, and Whitman County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in the matter. The 2004 Cat 305CR mini excavator was removed from the shop chained to a black and color 2008 C&B model trailer with wood deck and sides.     COLFAX—The word “interim” is no longer part of the title for the head of the Colfax Police Department. Bruce Blood was confirmed as Chief of Police at the Sept. 8 City Council meeting. According to city officials, Blood was the only qualified candidate to apply for the position. Blood was appointed interim police chief in May of this year by Mayor Jim Rezter.     PULLMAN—The Pullman/Moscow Regional Airport has been awarded a $951,779 grant from the FAA. The Airport Improvement Program grant will be used to construct a terminal building.     Fire units responded September 29 and September 30 to opposite ends of LD Johnson Road, Rosalia, for reports of fire. A farm service vehicle for Schmitz Farms was claimed Wednesday afternoon. While the cause is uncertain, the fire is believed to be ignited by an electrical issue.
