Bruce Richard Moehrle (Dad and Papa), 66, of Uniontown, Wash., passed on October 3, 2021, at home surrounded by family. He was born January 15, 1955, to Richard and Helen Murphy Moehrle. He lived his entire life on the family farm in Uniontown. He married Carol Moser Moehrle in 1978 and they celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary in July. Wallace "Wally" James Bodker, age 98, of Camano Island, Washington, passed away October 1, 2021, at home with his family. He was a warm, caring man with a great sense of humor, an unwavering love of the Palouse and was always appreciative of life. Terry Lee Blankenship, 73, of Albion, Wash., passed away at his home on September 24th, 2021. Terry was born in Chewelah, Washington, on July 20th, 1948, to Ivel and William Colonel Blankenship. Linda Sue Burke, of Tekoa, died on September 16, 2021. Born in Colfax on April 19, 1950, to Pete and Marge Smith, Linda grew up among the wheatfields near Ewan with her brother, Ken. Going by the moniker "Lil Pete," she enjoyed ice-skating on the family pond and generally raising hell on her Honda trail bike. Harry Lloyd Shillam, 84, of Colville, Washington, passed away September 10, 2021. Harry was born in Pasco, WA, on February 8, 1937, to Harry and Marian Shillam. Alex went to heaven on September 28, 2021, at his family home in Corvallis, Oregon. He died of complication from his heart disease. Alex was born August 10, 1942, in Spokane, Wash., the son of Bud and Helen Gustin of Pine City, Washington. He was raised on the family farm and attended grade school at Pine City. COLFAX - The Festival of Tree returns to The Center at the Whitman County Library in Colfax. The Washington Interscholastic Athletics Association (WIAA) unveiled its state tournament allocations for fall sports. OLYMPIA - Unemployment claims continue to drop as they are down 10.8% from last week. Total claims filed by Washingtonians for all unemployment benefit categories numbered 86,615, which is down 10.8% from the prior week.
