Roy Fry was born October 4th, 1931 to Roxey and Mabel Fry in Spokane, Washington. He passed away October 5th, 2018 at Whitman Hospital in Colfax, Washington, surrounded by his family. Roy's family later moved to Newport, Washington, where he attended and graduated from high school. While in school, Roy spent his summers working for Pend Orielle Electric and became a full-time employee after graduation. Ronald N. Broeckel, long time LaCrosse resident, was flown to Deaconess Hospital in Spokane where he died suddenly on October 8, 2018 from an apparent heart attack. He was 63. Ron was born April 1, 1955 in Colfax to Daniel and Darlene Scaros Broeckel and was the oldest of their four children. He grew up in Hay, Washington, and graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1974. USC FOOTBALL SUIT SETTLED A civil suit filed Feb. 1 against the University of Southern California and one of its football players has been settled in July with USC agreeing to pay $40,000 to the plaintiff.
