A superior court jury Oct. 23 ruled the defendant in a civil suit involving a winter driving accident in Pullman was not at fault and declined to award damages. The jury returned its verdict at 6:55 p.m. after beginning deliberation shortly after 5 p.m. following a three-day trial. Dusty Art and Colene Sager spent last week in Kona, Hawaii, with Art’s brother and wife, Floyd and Linda Sager from Boise. The Sagers flew their plane to Boise so that the two couples could travel together on the airline. Saturday, on their way home from Boise, Art and Colene stopped in Midvale, Idaho, and visited Colene’s 98 year old aunt and her cousin and wife who care for the aunt. Colfax High School graduates of 1948 gathered for a 65-year class reunion Sept. 20 - 21. Darl Prouty hosted a cocktail party at his Spokane home Friday. Attendees were welcomed by his 1929 Model A pickup in the yard with a large sign that read “Welcome Class of ‘48.” Saturday the grads met at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane for a luncheon in the Palm Court. Endicott Grandparents gathered from near and far to spend the morning with their grandchildren at Endicott School Monday. One grandparent was a little late because he had to drive part way in snow from Priest River, Idaho. Pearl Harwood of Coeur d’Alene has played piano professionally for 78 years, and Saturday, Nov. 2, she and the group “All That Jazz” will perform at the Empire Theater in Tekoa. Curtain time is 7 p.m. Harwood became fascinated with the piano at 18 months of age. She taught herself music theory and basic practices from books and, later, from experience. About 25 representatives from Rosalia, St. John, Endicott, Colton, Oakesdale, the county and waste haulers, attended a meeting Oct. 23 in Rosalia to discuss single stream recycling. A city inquiry into the status of Vista Pointe Drive, which serves Hill Ray and the Ag Service Center in the southwest corner of Colfax, has determined the street has never been dedicated as a city street.
