The coach also pointed out this year’s class of nine seniors recorded a three-year record of 35-3 with just one loss each year. They booked a third straight seasons of undefeated lea...

A song from my pre-Christian days in the `80s popped into my head the other day. A portion of the lyrics goes, “Here I go again on my own. Going down the only road I’ve ever known.” I don’t know what brought that to the forefront of my mind at the time. But it caused me to think and rejoice. Yes, a Heavy Metal Rock song from the `80s caused me to reflect and rejoice in the fact that since June 18, 1989, I no longer had to face anything alone. That was the night that I asked Jesus Christ to forgive me of my sins and to be the Lord of my life. W...

At last week’s budget hearing, two commissioners complained they did not have a copy of the preliminary budget. Auditor Eunice Coker said she had sent the figures two weeks earlier. Apparently, the figures had been e-mailed to the commissioners, but the two just did not know what to do with them. Commissioner Greg Partch, in fact, complained that he could not read them because they were not in finished form, and, as he said, they were not printed off in color. Well, he got his wish. The preliminary 2011 budget is awash in red. The deficit is e...
