Viewing was at Kramer Funeral Home Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 from 10 A.M. to 2 p.m. for family and friends.     John Kehne, Whitman County Library Trustee of 10 years, was honored by library staff, friends and fellow trustees during the library’s winter luncheon at the Colfax library. Kehne served twice as chairman and helped steer the library through some major changes including the $1 million renovation of the Colfax Library and the annexation of six towns into the library district. Whitman County commissioners recently confirmed Stephen Balzarini of Colfax to fill Kehne’s vacant position....

    Last year, at the age of 99, Addie Millhorn planted a garden like she has done every year since childhood. On Dec. 30, she will celebrate her 100th birthday. It’s pretty amazing,” she said. “I don’t know why I lived this long.” Daughter Maureen St. John said her mother moved from the farm home to an apartment just last year. Millhorn was born in Fort Junction, Wash. Millhorn’s mother died when she was only four years old, and she was raised by her sisters. She finished high school in Colton.     Roger Flook, Jr., 31, Endicott, is expected to face a long term in the state prison system after he pleaded guilty to five different charges Friday in Whitman County Superior Court. Flook agreed to enter a plea after the state offered to consolidate charges related to two cases.     The Colfax street flags campaign moved to a new chapter last Friday night when volunteers put up blue Colfax Bulldog flags. The Bulldog colors were posted to greet Colfax grads who returned for a basketball fund raiser game Saturday afternoon in the CHS gym. The flags were purchased by the Colfax Schools Foundation.
