OAKESDALE — The Oakesdale Nighthawks are the best volleyball team in the state, and they have three state championship titles in a row to prove it. The Nighthawks are headed by 11-year veteran coach McKinzie Turner, assisted by Darcie Van Dyke. Coach Turner has a record of 124-11 with Oakesdale, and a 132-49 record overall. Last season, the Nighthawks went a perfect 24-0 on their way to a three-peat state championship. COLFAX - The local Kiwanis Club stuffed the bus for several schools throughout the county this year. Colfax Kiwanis Service Project Manager, Sara Golden said the drive brought in $10,000 this year, including the drive and donations. Terry passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, at his home in Davenport, Wash., surrounded by his wife and daughters. Terry was born on April 6, 1955, to Don and Alene Lust in Colfax, Wash. He grew up in Endicott, moved to Ritzville and began first grade, followed by a move to Davenport in fifth grade and then he graduated from Davenport High School in 1973.
