    COLFAX — The Colfax Food Pantry was open Dec. 15 and will be closed Christmas week. The pantry usually distributes food the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. To give staff a break for Christmas, the second distribution was moved up and included whole chickens and pie.     MALDEN — A Spokane-based philanthropic foundation has launched a campaign to raise $300,000 to help rebuild four homes destroyed Sept. 7 in the Babb Fire.     COLFAX - The Thrifty Grandmothers hosted a record number of children at its annual Kids' Shopping Day on Dec. 9. The organization had 53 youth come to shop at the store during the event.
