PULLMAN—A case involving a calf that was taken, then returned to the WSU Knott Dairy Farm will not be tried. According to the documents filed in Whitman County Superior Court Sept. 10, a dairy employee saw a white male return a calf to the calf pen. STEPTOE—In a rare occurrence, a vehicle hit a moose in the Steptoe area in the dark and the vehicle was not crippled or worse. Which was a good thing in this case as the vehicle was a Colfax ambulance with a patient bound for Spokane. The incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. Sept. 12.
