Born in Colfax, Mr. Rodgers went into the service in 1957, serving for four years in the Navy in Japan, China, and the Philipines as a mechanic.     PALOUSE - Garfield-Palouse graduate Ainsley Sievers received offers totaling $1,061,940 from seven schools to attend. Sievers said she started applications from September to December, applying for 20 schools in all. Sievers's final choice was Claremont McKenna College, which she received an academic scholarship of $85,098 per year for four years.     COLFAX - The Council on Aging and Human Services was able to donate the first wheelchair from its 'mobility' fund to Colfax resident Berylene DeYoung. DeYoung was presented the the wheelchair on Thursday, May 30, to assist her at the Colfax Senior Meal site.     Eugene Max Hubble, 80, longtime school teacher, passed away on May 16, 2024, in St. John, Wash. Max was born on July 11, 1941, to Austin and Rose Hubble in Longview, Wash.
