Karrie Marsh moved from the Yakima Valley via Bridgeport to Colfax when her husband, Buck, was hired as the new principal at Colfax High School. Farming has been their family vocation for generations. Her maternal grandparents, and now uncles, are orchardists in the Yakima Valley. Whitman County Library will soon offer $66,000 in new digital titles as part of a grant received by the 30 libraries in the Washington Anytime Library consortium. The federal funding comes from the Library Services and Technology Act, administered through the Washington State Library. Since 1887, the Lutheran community of Endicott has been married, baptized, confirmed and worshiped with Trinity Lutheran Church. The church is celebrating its 125th anniversary this Sunday with a special service inside the purple nave and a potluck birthday party. Lacrosse LaCrosse All-Purpose 4H Club will have its first meeting of the year next Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the LaCrosse School library. Youngsters interested in joining the club are urged to attend. Former Whitman County Commissioner Hollis Jamison of Garfield was awarded a $50 Tanks of Thanks fuel card from CHS, parent company of Cenex, for his work helping feed local residents. Jamison said he drives from Garfield to Spokane twice a month to pick up food that feeds more than 135 families and seniors. He delivers between 3,000 and 4,000 pounds from Second Harvest in Spokane to Palouse, Garfield, Farmington and Elberton. Prescription drug take-back will be Saturday, Sept. 29, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Whitman Hospital & Medical Center. Residents with unused prescription at home can take advantage of the prescription drug take-back program.
