Lamont Art Swannack left March 4 for Washington D.C. to attend the Washington Farm Bureau DC Days event. On Monday morning the group attended an American Farm Bureau briefing on the issues of labor, youth employment in ag, trade and the current status of Farm Bill negotiations. Pullman Civic Theater’s spring production of Little Women will open April 13. Palouse Arts Council will sponsor the eighth annual St. Paddy’s in Palouse celebration on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17, at the Palouse Community Center, featuring traditional Irish dancers and music by Potatohead. Craig Asberry, one of the women considered a “Notable Washington Women”, the theme for this year’s study. Dr. Asberry was born in 1865 in Kansas. Her mother was a slave and her father a white land owner. She was the first African American to receive a bachelors degree from an American college.
