Oakesdale Everyone is welcome to attend an 82nd birthday party for Wanda Roper at the Fire Station in Oakesdale, Sunday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. The event is hosted by her children and grandchildren. Local Boy Scouts collected 430 pounds of canned food for their local food drive project Saturday. The food has been donated to the local Oakesdale Tree of Sharing. Living on the farm, Duane Mickelsen felt early stirrings to pursue a career as a veterinarian when he treated animals on days when local vets gave long-distance advice on their days off. On October 31, Peace Lutheran Church in Colfax and Trinity Lutheran in Endicott commemorated the first time at the pulpit for Pastor Phil Misner.
