  • Tapestry choir slates concerts at Colfax, Moscow

    Tapestry Women’s choir will perform their Christmas concert at First Presbyterian Church in Moscow, Friday, Dec. 4, and at United Methodist Church in Colfax, Monday, Dec. 7. The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Directed by Dale Forrey of Colfax, the choir started their Christmas concert series with a performance Tuesday at St. James Episcopal Church in Pullman. This will be the 11th year for the concerts by Tapestry which now includes 23 members.   • Hospital staff delivers food donations

    Whitman Hospital employees Dustin McGillic, left, and Gary Johnson loaded food donations for the F.I.S.H. Food Bank in Colfax. Approximately 580 pounds of food were donated by hospital staffers, according to Laurie Gronning, marketing coordinator at the hospital. Staffers put together a collection of soup mixes, noodles, sauces, and other food supplies for the food pantry which was exceptionally low this September.     Lacrosse Breakfast with Santa will be Saturday, Dec. 5, at the TeaPot Cafe from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Free juice and muffins will be served to all children while supplies last. A drawing will be conducted for a Christmas stocking filled with goodies for one boy and one girl. All are welcome to come and get photos taken with Santa.     At age 100, Kathleen Scholzs’ arthritic hands can still act out the historic tasks of using a washboard and pulling up a bucket of water from a well. Scholz celebrated her 100th birthday Nov. 17, and while time has swept away much of the culture she knew, Scholzs’ youthful days as a farmer’s wife on the Palouse are still bright in her mind.     Tekoa For the 34th year, members of Tekoa’s churches will join together for a Thanksgiving service.
