Spring Festival today at First Baptist center Whitman Hospital Auxiliary will host their annual Spring Festival today, Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Recreation Center on Mill Street. Rosalia “Mr. Texaco” Mike Day holds up a plaque proclaiming the Rosalia Central Service Station’s listing on the Washington Heritage Register and the National Register of Historic Places. The plaque will soon be hung on the Texaco station, which was built in 1923 by original proprietor C.J. Hall. Tapestry concert tour to be Forreys’ farewell Tapestry Women’s Choir will open its spring concert series in Colfax at the United Methodist Church Monday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. The theme of the concert is “Freedom” and features songs of freedom from around the world. A bid from Renstrom Homes, Inc of Garfield, has been accepted by the Garfield United Methodist Church board of Trustees to renovate the sanctuary ceiling and walls. Renstrom Homes will remove water damaged plaster, hang, tape and texture sheet rock and paint the interior walls and ceiling of the church sanctuary and interior entrance steps area.
