Oakesdale Oakesdale Fire Department’s annual Pancake Feed will be Monday, Jan. 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Oakesdale Fire Station. Dusty Dusty area was inundated with a gully washer on New Year’s Day. Close to an inch of rain fell in about 20 minutes resulting in water and mud running over the highway, washing out lanes and depositing mud in sheds and other locations. Endicott Church change Endicott Bible Church plans to discontinue Sunday morning worship services and instead offer Bible study sessions each Sunday at 6 p.m. Pastor Dean Ellis said the study sessions, which begin this week, will be open to all residents who are interested in digging deeper into the meaning of the scriptures and how they can apply them to everyday life. Lamont Lamont Community Church has a new sign to show the location of the church in Lamont. It was designed, made and installed by Tim and Dave Stromberger of Davenport. A male Downy Woodpecker makes a regular stop in Colfax to load up on fuel to offset the cold temperatures of winter. The visitor normally makes an exit stop on the upper tree limbs to clean suet off its beak before flying off to its next stop. Downy Woodpeckers are not much larger than chickadees and nuthatches and often mix with them. The red top appears on the male Downy. Yakima Canutt book relates wrangler days A new book about Yakima Canutt, Penawawa area native who earned fame as a national rodeo champion and went on to a career as a Hollywood stunt director, has been released. Dusty One Dusty family traveled Dec. 20 to the Tucannon campground for Christmas trees. Luke, Jennifer, Myshala and Quincy Morris, Keith and Sally Morris and Bridgett and Chad Hocutt and Hope and Miriam of Spokane, went to the Tucannon campground to cut three Christmas trees.
