    Dusty Thursday, several locals were among approximately 45 guests who attended the 99th birthday party at the Pastime Tavern in LaCrosse for Nona Camp. It was a no-host luncheon with cake served to the guests later. Donna Camp, former Whitman County resident, came from her home in Spokane to join in the celebration.     Dusty Services for former long-time Dusty residents will be held this weekend. Clare Steiger died earlier this summer. Her graveside services will be Sunday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Colfax Cemetery. A reception will follow at Hill Ray Plaza. Irma Stueckle died last Friday. Her services will be this Friday, Aug. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Baptist church in Colfax with burial afterward in the Colfax Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the church following the burial.     Dusty Last Tuesday and Wednesday, Di Brink and Joan Myrick went to Spokane Valley to visit with their cousin, Camille Patterson. They spent two days laughing, eating and shopping.     Dusty David Moore, oldest son of Steve and Carol Moore, graduated from basic training for the Navy July 17 in Chicago. Steve and Carol were able to attend the graduation ceremony. David is now in Pensacola, Fla., for additional training. Clare was one of the last of that amazing generation of women who lived through the Depression, World Wars and raised families, partnered with their husbands in developing farms in our area.     Dusty Twenty-two Stueckle cousins gathered at the home of Goldie Foss in Colfax Saturday for their annual potluck and reunion. The cousins came from Seattle, Puyallup, LaCrosse, the Tri-cities, Spokane and Colfax. All cousins are Stueckle related to their grandmother who, with her husband, homesteaded on farms in the Dusty area in 1905.     Dusty Dick and Helen Appel attended their granddaughter’s wedding in Poulsbo over Mother’s Day weekend. Kate Wollstein is the daughter of Barb and Bruce Wollstein, Lacey. The groom is Elliot Moon of Bonney Lake. That Sunday a Mother’s Day lunch was held at the Wollstein home. Many of the Appel family were able to attend.     Dusty Iva Kjosnes, native of the Selbu area near Hay, died April 30. The daughter of John and Gertrude Kyllo Kjosnes, she graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1945. She had been living in Foss Nursing Home in Seattle. Burial in the Selbu Lutheran Church cemetery will be at a later date. News was recently received that Ruth Stueckle Gwinn, 91, died April 2, 2015, at Mirabella in Seattle. She was buried at the Dusty Cemetery this past weekend alongside her husband Stan.     Dusty Colene Sager flew a Cessna 152 airplane solo from Pullman to LaGrande, Ore., last Wednesday to meet with an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner to take her check ride to become a private pilot. The final test is comprised of a two hour oral test and a one and a half hour flight. She has been renting the Cessna and taking lessons at Inter-State Aviation at the Pullman Airport to complete the needed requirements.
