Convict gets hearing on length of sentencing

Jeffrey A Salmon, former Uniontown resident who has been serving a sentence of over 17 years after a jury convicted him here over 10 years ago, has been granted a motion for a hearing Aug. 28 in superior court for a review of the length of his sentence. The court ordered Salmon be transported from McNeill Island for the hearing.

The hearing was granted after the court agreed to consider Salmon’s petition for a review, which challenges his state offender score, which factors a defendant’s prior record into sentencing.
