Fire ban imposed in county parks

Campfires and smoking along trails have been banned in parks around as of Wednesday, according to fire hazard restrictions imposed by the county parks department. The restrictions apply at Kamiak Butte and Klemgard County Parks, and the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail.

The same ban has been in place at Wawawai Park since June 10.

Fireworks are also banned at all three parks.

Cooking with charcoal briquettes and gas stoves is still allowed. Park users are asked to keep a bucket of water and shovel on hand....
