Summer Reading concludes for 22 at Endicott Library

Endicott Library wrapped up its Summer Reading program with a visit from Etol Lillard and her Bernese Mountain dog, Islay. Islay entertained children and adults alike by performing tricks and dancing to hula music.

Hula skirts were the program craft and kids and adults participated in hula hoop contests and hula dancing.

Hannah Krantz, 5, won the Mr. Incredible action figure. This prize was supplied by the Friends of the Whitman County Library.

Twenty-two children read for 10 hours or read 10 books this year in Endicott. Stephanie Stambaugh was the winner of the wristband for the Whitman County Fair, Hannah Krantz won the Mr. Incredible action figure in the drawing. The prizes for the program were funded through the efforts of the Friends of the Whitman County Library.

Summer Reading finishers received prize bags, which included a bookmark redeemable for a free kids pizza at Papa Murphy’s, a coupon for a free meal at Arby’s, a book, candies, stickers and temporary tattoos.

Teen Summer Reading continues through Saturday. Teens should have book reviews submitted to the library or on-line by that day. The drawing for the Endicott prize will be August 18.

Endicott adult Summer Reading will continue through Aug. 31. Endicott library is open Tuesdays 1 to 6 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
